Zeynep Kılıç

Zeynep  KILIÇ is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her research focused on citizenship, belonging, and identity in the context of international migration. Her work has been published in journals such as Diaspora, Food Studiesand Social Identities. Her current research explores cultural identity through food; how food is racialized in the Global North, how social class and ethnic diversity relate to food preferences, and how those choices may reflect our identity constructions. She is completing her documentary and book Sofra Sofra İstanbul (Tables of Istanbul), supported by grants from the Turkish Cultural Foundation, UAA Innovate Grant, Institute of Turkish Studies  and a Fulbright Research Scholarship .
